Outline

The Bachelor of Education (Physical Education) is a four year concurrent teacher education degree. The course is built upon a core of studies reflecting the multi-disciplinary nature of the field of Human Movement. A wide range of second discipline study options is available: Science, Humanities, Health, English, Mathematics and Information Technology. The program is sequenced to ensure that the notion of concurrent discipline and professional studies is maintained. Professional studies and schools experience occur during all four years of the program. Students who undertake the Bachelor of Education (Physical Education) degree who have above average marks may choose to undertake an honours program concurrently with their final year of study. A number of alternate units, plus a research project, are required in the final year. Alternatively, students with outstanding results may qualify for a degree with distinction. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to undertake the Graduate Certificate of Outdoor and Environmental Education during the third and fourth years of the Physical Education degree, qualifying you to teach in a third discipline area.
