Bachelor of Creative Arts And Industries (Music) (BCAIMU)

About the Course
The Bachelor of Creative Arts and Industries (Music) provides the intensive personalised training required for professional recognition within the music industry. The close partnership with the Darwin Symphony Orchestra and the Centre for Youth Music provide a challenging and exciting environment in which to learn music. The course offers two principal pathways of study, one in the Classical Music Specialisation and another in Contemporary Music. A third pathway is also offered as a combination of the two. This flexible course allows students to choose suites of study that best accommodate their individual career pathway.

The Bachelor of Creative Arts and Industries (Music) course is part of a suite of professional creative industries courses available through Charles Darwin University and enables students to also take suites of study from the creative study options in New Media Design, Fine Arts and Communications. Within each of these discipline pathways, there are alternative study plans that allow a student to explore a particular strength.

Course Structure
The course consists of common units and core units, which are common across the suite of creative arts and industries studies in the School. Students then select a study pathway from the specialisation options in Classical Music or Contemporary Music or a combined Classical/Contemporary Music stream, as well as electives from within any area of study within the University.

The flexible structure allows students to choose suites of study that accommodate pathways into a variety of possible career choices.

A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 240 credit points.
