Bachelor of Children's Services
The Bachelor of Children’s Services provides students with strong foundation knowledge in early childhood development and a broad understanding of the diversity of Children’s Services both in Australia and internationally. This degree program focuses on the development of knowledge and skills related to child development, health, communication, management, early childhood curriculum and professional conduct. Professional and practical experience is a key focus of the program, with the inclusion of two Professional Experience components.
Work Experience & Internships
Included within the degree program are two professional experience components where students apply their learning and interact with young children and staff at a children’s service. This intensely practical professional development approach fosters graduates who are ready, willing and able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact in the workplace.
Since the program’s inception in 2000, 100% of departing graduates have successfully achieved employment within the Children’s Services industry.
The program has national accreditation with the Department of Communities and offers graduates a wide variety of career options including roles within Commonwealth, State and Local Government Departments that provide services to support children and their families during the early childhood years. Additionally graduates will be equipped with the necessary skills to seek roles in kindergartens, long day childcare centres, Family Day Care and other early childhood programs.
