Honours An Honours program is available for those students who demonstrate high academic performance. Honours consists of an extra year of study and the development of a personal research project and thesis. An Honours degree is usually essential for entry to research higher degrees. JCU's School of Business also offers a wide range of postgraduate study opportunities and has an active research program. Details vary across institutions, but these scholarships are typically awarded to students who have performed well in their undergraduate degrees. They often provide the student with a living allowance during the final (honours) year of study, and some institutions will also contribute to the student’s HECS bill.
