Bachelor of Aviation Technology

The Bachelor of Aviation Technology is designed for those seeking a career in aviation, aerospace and information technology and attracts many students seeking flying and non-flying positions within the aviation industry. Throughout the program, you will study courses including aviation theory and cover topics such as aerodynamics, aircraft systems, air law, meteorology, navigation, pilot licences and ratings, air service operations, aerodromes, airspace classifications, air traffic control and flight service, and handling emergencies. You will also develop sound knowledge in mapping techniques, aviation time, charts and publications, navigation computations, pilot navigation and radio navigation, the composition of the atmosphere, heat, temperature, pressure and humidity, atmospheric stability, clouds and precipitation, and many other areas.
*Please note: fl ight training is not included in this program.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
By studying a Bachelor of Aviation Technology you have the opportunity to work for major airline organisations in both the public and private sectors such as Jabiru, Jetstar, APTA (Australia Pilot Training Academy), Australian Air Force and the Australasian Aviation Group in roles such as:
• Aviation analyst
• Flight operations manager
• Flight scheduler
• Logistics operations manager and rescue operations manager • With additional flight training, you may also become qualifi ed as a
civilian or defence force pilot.
