About the course

The degree offers a wide range and diversity of subject material as psychologists have studied almost every aspect of human activity. Students learn psychology’s methods of inquiry as well as its discoveries. This Bachelor of Arts with a Psychology major is the first step of a career path in psychology.

This is a three-year course in which students wishing to complete Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited studies are required to take a 10-subject Psychology major which includes at least four Level 3 subjects. An additional Honours year is available for meritorious students who wish to become registered Psychologists.

Your course is recognised by industry

The Bachelor of Arts (Psychology Major) is accredited as a three-year course by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council ( APAC).

Enrolment restrictions

Except by permission of the Course Coordinator in cases where credit has been granted, students are required:

  • to take at least three of the first four subjects in their course from major and minor sequences. At least two of these subjects mustbe from major sequences
    and
  • to take at least three of the second four subjects in their course from major and minor sequences. At least two of these subjects must be from major sequences

Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 192 points.
