This program involves four coursework units plus a dissertation of 12,000-15,000 words. Within the multidisciplinary Honours course, studies in Literature, Film, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Historical and Heritage Studies and Social Sciences are offered. Honours in a single discipline area will usually require complementary enrolment in fourth year units from another university (chosen with guidance from staff in the School), or students may combine units from across the range of disciplines offered by the University of Ballarat. HY807 Cultural Studies in Theory may provide a theoretical underpinning for units in literature, film, history, and the social sciences, as well as an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of cultural studies. Because of the size of the course, it is an advantage to enrol by early December in order to have preferences taken into account for the following year’s coursework offerings.
