Bachelor of Arts (English)

Overview

Description:
The reading and study of literature has always been a pleasure and an end in itself, but it is in fact much more than that. By providing training in the use and understanding of language, the study of English also builds generic skills of a precise and invaluable nature - skills that serve students well for life in every profession. It is an almost unrivalled source of historical and cultural understanding; and in a way quite unlike any other subject, it gives an insight into the scope and variety of human interaction.

Students may study a variety of different aspects of English literature, from Anglo- Saxon English to creative writing, women in literature, literary theory and criticism, American literature, critical thinking, Australian literature and communication studies.

The Bachelor of Arts is a flexible degree that enables you to tailor a study program to suit your interests and equip you for a broad variety of career options.
