Bachelor of Applied Computing (Mathematics)

Assessment (Internat.)

Assignments, essays, class presentations, laboratory work, exams.

Outline

Mathematics is a dynamic discipline and the foundation of the modern technological world. The uses of mathematics are often not seen, but they can be found in many exciting and important endeavours. The Bachelor of Applied Computing (Mathematics) provides you with the necessary skills, knowledge and values to be successful in a variety of computing and mathematical areas. It will also enable you to select an area of specialisation that may be continued at a postgraduate level.

Career Opportunities

Completing this degree will provide you with a variety of career opportunities in small, medium and large business and government in such areas as research, computing, modelling, finance, project management, consultancy, software engineering, and programming. This course is also well-suited to those who wish to go on to become mathematics and IT teachers at secondary school level.

“Maths is the single most useful ability to have in your kitbag to equip you for any eventuality. In any case employers set a lot of store by mathematical ability and more likely to hire someone with a good background in mathematics” (Ross Gittins, Economics Editor, Sydney Morning Herald)
