Description »
The Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology incorporates the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology, Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology and the Certificate III in Clothing Production. These courses will equip you with comprehensive skills, knowledge and design capabilities to work in the fashion industry.
In the first year students will complete the Certificate III in Clothing Production and commence the Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology. Students will also develop individual skills forming a valuable foundation for further fashion studies. The course covers a variety of core disciplines based on the fashion industry.

In the second year of study students will complete the Certificate IV in Applied Fashion Design and Technology and the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology. These courses will increase your awareness of the complementary and integrated roles of design, pattern making, construction and associated technologies. The course encourages you to develop, investigative and create skills related to the current and future directions of the fashion industry.

The Advanced Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology forms the third year of study. This course offers participants a chance to enhance their skills in fashion design, marketing and global operations. Students will develop communication skills and knowledge to prepare them to liaise with all industry stake holders, from designers through to manufacturers and marketers.

The fashion industry has strongly supported the development and delivery of the Advanced Diploma. As part of the program, students undertake an internship with a major fashion enterprise. Students will work in industry for two days a week for a period of six months or in a four day block for eight weeks. Fashion students are also offered the opportunity to participate in an international study tour.

Fashion course graduates can look forward to an exciting and rewarding career in the fashion industry. Career pathways include pattern engineering, quality assurance management, product development and design, design development, production development management and merchandising. Graduates may also look forward to working as a garment technician.
