About Us

Established in the late 1980's originally as "Boston Home Language" and then united in 1990 as ALP, American Language Programs is a private homestay projekt with highly concentrated English language instruction wherein students stay in the houses of their American teachers. Within their program they receive individualized teaching according to their level in English. The emphasis of our program is that students have the opportunity to “practice what is preached!” In other words, their entire stay is practice in using English.

American Language Programs, Inc.

Students worldwide, ages 12-80 years old, professional and non-professional gain quick improvement in their use of English as a Second Language through our unique way of English language immersion. Students live (homestay) in the residence of their own, competent, English teacher. They live an "American life" interacting with their American family in a absolutely English surroundings while they enjoy private, intensive English lessons 15 to 25 hours per week from their own teacher in his or her house. Lessons and vocabulary are needs-based and personalized to suit every student individually.

Homestay Only Without Lessons

This program offers a very affordable way to learn about American culture by living with a carefully chosen and educated American family. Students accommodate a private bedroom and shared/private bathroom and can choose to receive up to three meals every day. Fees are per person/per week and regularly must be booked a minimum of 4 weeks in advance of start date. Activities can be arranged at an added fee and organized at time of booking. There are no formal language exercise in this program but students use their language abilities communicating on a daily basis with their American families! American English is standard in our homes unless there is a request for Spanish speaking/bilingual family.
