Advanced Diploma of Oral Health (Dental Hygiene)

  • Note: one year of study is equivalent to not less than 36 weeks of instruction.

    Entry Requirements: Satisfactory completion of Year 12 or equivalent overseas academic qualifications English proficiency demonstrated by an IELTS score of 6 is essential One year full time equivalent work experience or two years full time equivalent verified work experience

  • Expected Employment Outcome Example: These courses prepare graduates for working in the health industry in roles as diverse as patient care assistants; dental hygienists; dental technicians; dental clinic assistants; ancillary or support workers; enrolled nurses; allied health assistants (therapy assistants); and health technicians.

    Infection control in dental practice; dental sterilisation; OH&S in dental practice; body systems structures and functions; dental conditions and risks; patient care and surgery management; dental instruments and materials; positive and professional practice in the work place and the dental team; general studies; dental and health sciences; human biology; and clinical studies and practice.
