Advanced Diploma of Engineering (ADIPEN)
About the Course
This course provides the academic background and practical training for middle level employment in various engineering and related fields. Streams are offered in Civil, Electrical and Electronics and Mechanical Engineering.
It also provides a seamless pathway into Charles Darwin University's Bachelor of Engineering.
Assumed Knowledge
Stage 2 Mathematical Studies.
Course Structure
The course comprises a general first year, covering basic academic and engineering skills and then progresses to a second year focusing on the stream of engineering appropriate to the student's interests.
Full credit towards Charles Darwin University's Bachelor of Engineering course will be given for the successful completion of this Advanced Diploma.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 160 credit points.
Additional Requirements
Of the total 160 credit points:
not more than 20 credit points shall be included with a grade of "PC".
Career Opportunities
Career opportunities for graduates of this course exist in engineering related areas, such as site supervisor, technical officer and engineering assistant.
